Thank Goodness it's Thursday?

Some days you just wake up feeling every single one of your years.  Today was one of those days for me.  In a few days I'll be turning 42 and at the moment, I *feel* 42 years old.  Cold.  Creaky.  Running slow.  I suppose the fact that it's 5am has something to do with that.  I truly am not a morning person.  The fact that I lower the heat at night doesn't help--last month our gas bill was $150 and we froze.  I swear, I remember my grandmother complaining when the gas bills got over $40 and her house was even less well insulated than ours is.  I am just determined not to end the winter with a huge gas bill that we spend half the summer paying off (because we're still paying off the electric bill from last summer!  And I don't run the central air.  Ever.)  And clearly I'm feeling grouchy on top of slow, cold, and creaky  ;-)

I am starting my morning with exactly 7,805 words on the "page".  My goal is to get to 10,000 by the end of the week (for me that's Sunday, because that's the end of the week in my handy Witches' Datebook.)  And oh, look, speaking of my Witches' Datebook (published by Llewellyn if anybody feels they want one of their own), today the moon i sin the first quarter and she's in Aries.  That should be a good moon for working!  Aries is all about fire and energy... which is good.  I could use a little energy right now.  Or at least a little coffee.

Oh, and as I was sort of starting to say, although I don't count the end of the week as happening until Sunday, I've got a packed weekend.  Tomorrow one of my 'kids' is coming over to sew a coven robe with me, Saturday I've got a ritual with a couple of my advanced students and Sunday I've got class.  We are merrily chewing our way through the Kabbalah for the next couple few classes.  Somehow the subject wasn't met with much enthusiasm.  I'm hoping it'll catch on and we can come back to it when they're feeling more excited.  It's a cool subject.

All right, and since blog words don't count towards my word count for the week, it's time to get to work... I want to be finished with the rough draft by March, I think.  Considering what my February looks like, that's pretty ambitious.  (I still have to prep for that class I'm teaching at ConVocation.)

Oh and I've got 570 words on the page for Jack and Kam.  I don't have a word goal for that one for the week, but when it reaches 2000 or so, it'll probably be a chapter and I can post it.

Happy Thursday,
PS -- remember, you don't need a Blogger account to post comments.
(I love comments!)

Martin Luther King Day falls on January 17th, this year.

Coincidentally my birthday...
Dr. King was also a Capricorn.
Let's hear it for the Goats!
