Didn't reach my word goal...

As Maxwell Smart would say, I missed it by *that much*; I ended last week with 9600 words.  I'm still hovering around 9800, but I think I have it sorted to move forward.  And I suppose it is my birthday, so it's all right to slack off a little.  I got a lovely carrot cake from one of my students and my husband brought home a bouquet of white roses for me (white roses are my favorite).  I've gotten TONS of birthday wishes from my Facebook friends (THANK YOU!!!)   Another one of my students sang to me over the phone and I got a wonderful massage.

My word count goal for the week is to reach 15,000 words (by Friday) because I have got to do some painting.  I have one drawing done and only awaiting color; another is mostly done, but needs final details.  I've got a drawing that needs to be finished and then painted, that really should have been done ages ago.

And today I discovered that one of my dearest friends has been reading my blog.  For reasons I cannot explain, the revelation filled me with sudden and total dread.  And then I laughed at myself for being so utterly silly.

Now... carrot cake or turkey patties for dinner....that is the question....

Thank you! (and how cool about sharing the same birthday!) And thank you for the comment about my writing; I really just try to be myself. I think that's the best any of us can do.
